Onward!

On the suggestion of a great many people, I've decided that my first pizza reviewing venture is going to be at Matthew's on Eastern Ave. I've heard too many good things about this place to let myself procrastinate on it. I guess this is also a double edged sword because it will be the first review and I'm EXACTLY sure what the process will be. We'll find out soon enough though!

The actual pizza eating should be going down sometime between now and Sunday, so I should have a first official review by Monday!

Suggestions: Keep them Coming!

I've gotten a lot of good feedback so far and it hasn't even been 24 hours since I've created the blog! A couple of comments on the first post, a few emails in the inbox, and a whole city full of pizza ready to be criticized and (hopefully) enjoyed.

So here is a list of suggestions I've gotten simply through the blog. I have the Beatbots messageboard to thank for a much bigger list that I'll include in another post when I ready my master plan.

- Tutti Gusti (Fait and Ellwood)
- Mount Washington Pizza and Subs (Kelly Avenue)
- Iggies (Calvert Street)
- Nacho Mama's (Odonnell Street)
- Pasta Mista (Canton/Towson)
- Matthew's (Eastern Ave)
- Pizza Paradise (Catonsville)
- Bella Roma (Falls Road)
- Zorba's (Harford Road)

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions! Keep them coming through the comments on the blog and the email address below. The first reviews will probably start this weekend or early next week. I'll let you know when I decide where my first tasting will be.

The Pizzabilities are Endless!

I've created this blog for one reason and one reason only. I like pizza. I like pizza a lot. But as anyone who eats pizza probably knows...NOT ALL PIZZA IS CREATED EQUALLY...especially in the great city of Baltimore, Maryland.

I've eaten a lot of pizza in my life. I've had good pizza, I've had bad pizza, interesting pizza, awesome pizza and inevitably I've eaten horrible pizza. I'm not the be-all and end-all of pizza, I'm not some top chef or culinary snob looking to smear every mediocre pizzeria in Baltimore. I'm just a normal guy. I was transplanted to Baltimore from Central, Pennsylvania, a place I would consider a melting pot of great pizza. Why? Because its so comfortably situated between Philadelphia and New York, the undeniable Meccas of good Italian American cuisine. But in the short period of time that I've lived in Baltimore I've yet to have a slice of pizza that's impressed me.

So I decided that I'm on a quest. A quest to find the best, most agreeable, crowd pleasing pizza pie in the city of Baltimore. I'm documenting my quest and with a little help from my friends I think I'll be able to complete what I've set out for. I'll be judging the food and talking about every aspect of each place I visit. From ambiance and menu selection to presentation and service I'll cover it all honestly and openly. I'll judge the food by ordering a large half plain cheese/half random topping pie. If that certain restaurant is famous or well known for another item, I'll be sure to review that too.

So from this point forward, I'm taking suggestions. Where would you like me to eat? What is your favorite pizzeria in the Baltimore Metro area? Maybe you're a pizza shop or restaurant owner/manager in the area...invite me in!

Post suggestions in the comments! Or send me an email at baltimore.pizzabilities@gmail.com

I'm looking forward to hearing reactions, sparking conversation and most importantly eating pizza.
